Dr. Gamal Amira, previously Head of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo University, and former president of the Egyptian Society of Surgical Oncology, now serves as Vice President of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate and Head of Surgical Oncology at Nasser Institute, Ministry of Health and Population. His career is distinguished by the establishment of district cancer centers, integrating advanced medical practices with comprehensive social and educational programs for patient care. Dr. Amira graduated from Cairo University in 1979 and pursued specialized training in the United States, Europe, and Japan. He became a professor in 2004 and is globally recognized for his contributions to cancer care. His work has significantly impacted the quality of cancer treatment in Egypt and the Middle East. Dr. Amira is a dedicated member of professional bodies, including ESSO, ACS, SSO, WAIO, GFSO, and serves on the boards of ECS and EHNCS.
