CACA Delegation Shines at 2025 AACR Annual Meeting: Charting a New Chapter in Global Cancer Collaboration

From April 25 to 30, 2025, Chinese delegation representing China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) participated in the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting in Chicago, USA. Through academic exchanges, strategic dialogues, and international resource integration, the delegation deepened multilateral cooperation and achieved remarkable outcomes. Their contributions highlighted China’s leading role in global cancer prevention and control efforts.

On April 28, the "China Summit & China Night" event, jointly organized by CACA and US-CACA and hosted by eChinaHealth, was grandly held during the AACR Annual Meeting.

Dr. Zhang Yiqi, Deputy Consul General of China in Chicago, delivered the opening remarks, while Prof. Yan Li, President of US-CACA, chaired the summit. Prof. Wang Ying, Vice President of CACA, warmly welcomed attendees from China and abroad. In her keynote speech titled"Current Status and Challenges of Cancer Prevention and Treatment in China," she comprehensively presented CACA's groundbreaking achievements in building cancer control systems, guideline promotion, academic exchange, public education, and international collaboration, which resonated strongly with participating experts.

 Strengthening CACA-AACR Strategic Partnership to Forge a Shared Vision Against Cancer

During the summit, leading scholars from China and abroad gathered to discuss innovative approaches to cancer prevention and treatment. Prominent Chinese experts, including Prof. Lu Shun (Shanghai Chest Hospital), Prof. Cheng Ying (Jilin Cancer Hospital), and Prof. Han Chengbo (Shengjing Hospital), joined international authorities such as Prof. Alex A. Adjei (Cleveland Clinic) and Prof. Pasi A. Jänne (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute) for in-depth discussions. Their exchanges on precision medicine, immunotherapy, and cross-regional collaboration injected new momentum into the global fight against cancer.

 Strengthening CACA-AACR Strategic Partnership to Forge a Shared Vision Against Cancer

During the conference, the CACA delegation held high-level talks with AACR leadership. Attendees included AACR President Liliann Siu, Immediate Past President Patricia M. LoRusso, CEO Margaret Foti, Chief Communications Officer Rick Buck, Vice Presidents Christine Battle and Frédéric Biemar, and Elizabeth McKenna, Executive Editor of Cancer Discovery. Representing CACA were Vice President Ying Wang, International Affairs Director Lijun Zhang, Director Huiqin Liu, and other experts. Prof. Li Yan, Executive Director of US-CACA, and Prof. Minghua Lu, Founder/CEO of eChinaHealth, participated as special guests.

The meeting reviewed two decades of collaboration, including exchange visits, joint conferences, virtual summits, and academic/journal partnerships. Both parties agreed to co-host a CACA-AACR Summit during 2025 CCHIO and expand cooperation in journal publishing and editor training. To solidify this partnership, a strategic agreement will be signed at the 2025 CCHIO Yunnan meeting, combining resources to advance cancer research and clinical care in China, the US, and globally.

  CACA Showcases Global Presence at AACR 2025

During the 2025 AACR Annual Meeting, CACA hosted an exhibition booth to systematically introduce its mission, academic achievements, and global network through research displays, journal promotions, and interactive exchanges. The English journal Holistic Integrative Oncology (HIO) and the newly established World Association for Integrative Oncology (WAIO) drew significant attention from international peers, effectively elevating CACA's global influence in cancer prevention and treatment.
